HST will rob Peter…

Propaganda on the HST, brought to us by Liberal spin doctors, paints a rosy picture for our future. Of course, there are no real specifics as to how this “Hated Sales Tax” will benefit us citizens. We know that the companies which benefit most from the imposition of the HST, are the same that have been syphoning profits out of the Province, and out of the country for years. They “do not”, “have not” and “will not” return their profits to the provincial economy, rather they go to shareholders and to foreign investors. Other governments having the HST, love the increased taxes, but the citizens are not so happy, as their disposable incomes are eroded. We hear rhetoric about “creation of new jobs”. In reality, we will see a loss of jobs as many marginal businesses fail.
Call this repressive tax “The Black Tax”, for if imposed, years of pillaging the public’s purse, to the profit of a few will ensue. George Bernard Shaw said, “A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul”.
Instead of taxing the rank and file, we should look to taxing the “financially obese”. They wouldn’t even notice would they? Our society frowns on over indulgence of all types, except of course in business. Lets bring in something like the “Robin Hood Tax” and do more good than harm.
